Amazon Expands Push into Healthcare with Online Pharmacy

Amazon announced new pharmacy offerings on Tuesday as it pushes into the healthcare industry through affordable and accessible medicine, according to the company’s press release. Amazon Pharmacy, the new store, will allow customers to purchase prescription medicines through an online store.

  • Amazon Pharmacy will allow customers to add their insurance information, manage prescriptions, and choose payment options before checking out from the Amazon app.
  • Prime members will receive unlimited, free two-day delivery on orders from Amazon Pharmacy.
  • Prime members paying without insurance to access up to 80% savings on medications at Amazon Pharmacy and from over 50,000 other participating pharmacies nationwide
  • Amazon Prime prescription savings benefit and Amazon Pharmacy will allow customers to compare prices and purchase medications for home delivery.
