(AMD) Advanced Micro Devices posted record revenue of $4.8 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021, representing a year-over-year increase of 49%.
The record revenue translated to an operating income of $1.2 billion in the fourth quarter and net income of $974 million or $0.80 diluted earnings per share.
Revenues also hit a record for FY21, with a reported figure of $16.4 billion, up 68% from FY20. Operating income was reported at $3.6 in the year, while net income was $3.2 billion or diluted EPS of $2.57.
The reported net income in the fourth quarter was still 45% below the prior year but up 6% from the previous quarter.
The company said that its Computing and Graphics segment revenue rose 32% from the prior year and 8% from the third quarter to hit $2.6 billion.
AMD projects revenue of $5.0 billion-plus or minus $100 million in the first quarter of 2022, up about 45% on an annual basis. FY22 revenue is expected at $21.5 million, up 31% from FY21.
