U.S Consumer Price Index Rose 0.4% in February

U.S Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers increased 0.4% in February after gaining 0.3% in January, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics press release. The all items index has increased 1.7% over the last 12 months

The gasoline index rose 6.4% in February and accounted for over half of the overall all times index gains.

The electricity and natural gas indexes rose, with the energy index gaining 3.9% over the month.

The food index surged 0.2% while the index for all items less food and energy increased 0.1% in February.

The index for all items less food and energy rose 1.3% over the last 12 months, a smaller increase than the 1.4% rise for the 12 months ending January.

The food index rose 3.6% over the last 12 months, while the   energy index increased 2.4% over the same period.

The indexes for shelter, recreation, medical care, and motor vehicle insurance all increased in February.

The indexes for airline fares, used cars, and trucks, and apparel all declined in February.

U.S stocks are currently gaining as the dollar loses. SPY is up 0.67%, QQQ is up 1.24%, EURUSD is up 0.15%
