Impossible Foods Targets More R&D and World’s Best Scientists to Eliminate Animal Agriculture

The world’s leading environmental startup, Impossible Foods, seeks to double its Silicon Valley-based R&D team over the next year to tackle the globe’s most destructive technology, animal agriculture, according to BusinessWire The company’s mission is to address global warming and prevent catastrophic biodiversity collapse brought about by the increasing use of animals to transform plants into meat, fish, and dairy foods. 

  • Impossible Foods to accelerate its next-generation product development and multifaceted technology platform in the next 12 months to deliver on the mission 
  • The company is launching the “Impossible Investigator” project, a program aiming to bring the world’s best scientists on board in addressing global warming and loss of biodiversity under an “all science, no bull” mission. 
  • Impossible Foods has already started displacing sales of animal-derived foods, whose production is one of the greatest generators of greenhouse gases and the leading cause of a global decline in wildlife. 

Impossible Foods has raised about $1.5 billion since formation in 2011 and an additional $700 million this year to fund R&D and the “Impossible Investigator” program.
