Binance Crypto Exchange Names Former U.S Senator as its Adviser

Binance Holdings, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has named Max Baucus, former U.S politician as its adviser, according to Bloomberg. Baucus, 79, will provide guidance and policy advice covering some of the world’s most important financial jurisdictions and agencies.

Baucus will also liaise with U.S officials on the best practice and policies affecting the cryptocurrency industry. 

Baucus served as a Democrat Senator in Montana for more than three decades, and held a seven-year stint as Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.

The former senator also served as U.S ambassador to China from 2014 to 2017

Baucus’s appointment comes at a time of increased interest in cryptocurrencies and heightened scrutiny by regulators.

On Wednesday, Blockchain.com announced that Jim Messina, a deputy chief of staff in Barack Obama’s administration, is joining its board.

Major cryptocurrencies are currently declining. BTCUSD is down 2.42%, ETHUSD is down 2.28%.
